MEET KELLIE

Kellie is a seasoned management consultant and Lecturer at Johns Hopkins University’s Master of Arts in Communication program. Across her 25-year career, Kellie has advised executives and organizational teams on communications and business decisions to navigate crises, foster employee engagement, and strengthen brand loyalty. She has won a total of 7 awards for her work, including the Platinum MarCom award for her communications leadership during the 2008 financial crisis. Her consulting experience includes advising The U.S. White House, TD Ameritrade, and Comcast Corporation.

She is currently a Fellow with the Project on Positive Leadership at the College of Business at the University of Louisville. Through this fellowship, she is developing an instructional tool to support faculty in the instruction of positive leadership.

In 2019, Kellie received a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied under Martin Seligman, Angela Duckworth, and Adam Grant learning the science of wellbeing and resilience. She is also an avid student of Barbara Fredrickson’s pioneering work in the science of positive emotions, and continues to learn from the founding members of University of Michigan’s Center for Positive Organizations.

Previously, Kellie led a communications team at global financial services company, T. Rowe Price, where she pioneered the development of human-centered customer segmentation in order to help communicators develop more resonant customer messages. Earlier in her career, she worked on Madison Avenue in NYC and developed promotional videos that were instrumental in raising funds to establish the renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center. She graduated from Trinity University where she was elected into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and received the T-Pin for her service to the community. She later studied film at New York University.

Kellie’s writing has appeared in Huffington Post, the Association for Talent Development (ATD), Ethical Corporation, American Banker, and Marketing Profs among other publications. She is accredited with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and was a speaker at IABC’s 2019 World Conference in Vancouver.

Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Pennsylvania’s MAPP Alumni Association where she led the launch of an online magazine that attracts readers from around the world. She believes that learning about the science of wellbeing has enabled her to lead a more fulfilling life and hopes to share this rich discovery with others to help them experience more joy and life satisfaction.
